Ten years inside big corporations, then fifteen running my own companies. Thirty-two ventures so far. Some taught me something, a few paid. Today I build one thing: a way for a small business to hand its back office to AI without anyone getting hurt. The company is Green Screen Procedures. The first business running on the system is my own, so when something breaks, I find out before you do.

We run the back office of a small business on AI, and we keep the AI on a leash. One system per business, on its own server. A Help Desk answers your clients, staff and vendors in minutes, in their language. We look after it every day. You use it the way you use electricity, and you never see the plant. It is not for a company that wants a chatbot bolted to its website and nothing else.

The name comes from the green screens that ran the first computerised businesses in the seventies. Plain text, one procedure at a time. It worked then. I look at the green screen so you never have to.

Left alone, a model is a confident intern with no memory and no fear. So the system around it matters more than the model. Mine has four parts.

  • [01]MemoryIt forgets nothing between conversations. Your data stays on your server, not in someone else's cloud.
  • [02]HandsIt does the work rather than talking about it: mail, phone, calendar, invoices, and its own code.
  • [03]GatesNo money moves and nothing goes live until a person clicks. That is written into the code, not into a policy.
  • [04]RecordEvery action is logged. A second system reads the log and wakes an engineer when something looks wrong.

Two things need a human: money, and anything you can't undo. Everything else it just does. And it should need me less each month, not more. That is the point.
